In part of the Kamensky district of Dnipropetrovsk region, quarantine zones have been established due to an outbreak of African swine fever in the Kirovohrad region community. This information is reported on the website of the district military administration, according to "Vidomo".
The fever was detected in the village of Kazatske in the Petrikov community of Kirovohrad region. Several pigs have died from the disease on the premises of a private household. Since the outbreak is located near the territory of the city of Zheltie Vody, it was decided to create two quarantine zones. These include the following settlements:
In these settlements, the trade of live pigs and products, except for those obtained from slaughterhouses and processing enterprises with permits, is prohibited.
"If necessary, euthanasia and incineration of pigs showing signs of the disease will be carried out at a designated location. In the protection zone, according to the current 'Instruction on the Prevention and Control of ASF in Pigs', clinically healthy pig populations must be submitted for slaughter at a designated enterprise by a specific commission,” the message states.
Additionally, exhibitions, fairs, markets, and other events related to the movement and gathering of animals are prohibited in the protection zone.
Furthermore, actions will be taken to manage the population of stray dogs and cats in a humane manner, as well as to carry out rodent control by owners of farms of all forms of ownership.
Quarantine restrictions will be lifted after 40 days, provided that the entire range of final veterinary and sanitary measures is completed.
