Теперь все понятно? После скандала с Зеленским в Белом доме в сети появилось старое фото Венса.

Following the scandalous and loud statements made by J.D. Vance regarding Ukraine during the debate between Presidents Vladimir Zelensky and Donald Trump, an old photo of the Vice President has resurfaced online. In this image, he is seen posing in a t-shirt featuring Soviet Union symbols.

The photo first surfaced on the internet during the election campaign in July 2024. At that time, discussions erupted among social media users questioning its authenticity and whether the politician was indeed depicted in it.

The t-shirt displays the main symbols of the Soviet Union – the hammer and sickle, along with the abbreviation USSR, which stands for the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

After the initial publication of this image, several users speculated that the choice of clothing might be linked to the Halloween holiday. Some commentators also perceived a political context in it.

Journalists from the fact-checking project Snopes confirmed that the photo is not fake.

Representatives of J.D. Vance clarified to the media that the individual in the photo is indeed the current Vice President of the United States, interpreting his outfit as a Halloween costume. According to them, Vance portrayed the professional wrestling character Nikolai Volkoff (real name – Josip Hrvoje Peruzović), a Croatian-American athlete who performed in the U.S. during the 70s and 90s as a "Soviet wrestler."

It’s worth noting that during a meeting at the White House between President Vladimir Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump, a tense debate arose over security guarantees for Ukraine. Vice President J.D. Vance also joined the heated exchange.

Following the incident, several American senators criticized the actions of the leadership in the United States. Additionally, mass protests took place in New York and other cities across the U.S. in support of Ukraine and specifically President Zelensky.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that the largest company in Norway providing refueling services for ships announced that it would stop refueling military vessels owned by the U.S.
