Some retirees will automatically receive assistance in December.

Additional payments are available for certain pensioners. Currently, these are administered by the UNDP as part of its collaboration with the Ministry of Social Policy. The increase will continue until the end of 2024.

The UN program has been in effect since August 2023, as reported by the press service of the ministry. They emphasize that no application is necessary; the funds will be disbursed automatically.

As a result, not only pensioners but also individuals who have reached retirement age but are ineligible for a pension, as well as adults and children with disabilities, can expect this additional payment. However, they must also meet the following vulnerability criteria:

• reside in areas experiencing active or potential combat according to the lists provided by the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories;
• receive social assistance of less than 3250 hryvnias per month;
• not receive housing assistance for internally displaced persons;
• not receive aid from international organizations.

The payment amount is the difference between 3250 hryvnias and the pension or social assistance currently received by the individual.

As a reminder, "Telegraph" previously reported that pensioners could receive an additional nearly one thousand hryvnias to their payments.
