Will young people be mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine starting at the age of 18?

In Ukraine, there are no plans to lower the mobilization age to 18, despite suggestions from international partners. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasizes the priority of equipping the army with technology rather than increasing the number of soldiers.

The Ukrainian command focuses on the quality training of soldiers and modern warfare methods, utilizing drones, artillery, and air defense systems. This is reported by Fakty ICTV.

Since 2022, European and American partners have proposed that Ukraine reduce the conscription age to 18-20 years. However, official Kyiv adheres to the existing conscription age norms.

According to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, the most effective military personnel are men aged 30-45. Recruiting younger conscripts could negatively impact the demographic situation in the country.

In the Verkhovna Rada, there are no bills aimed at lowering the mobilization age, as noted by MP Fedor Venislavsky. He also refuted claims regarding the potential forced mobilization of women.

Ukrainian commanders confirm a shortage of personnel in units. At the same time, they emphasize the importance of properly preparing mobilized soldiers.

As a reminder, earlier "Telegraph" reported on whether it is possible to obtain a deferral from mobilization if there is a fine from the TCC. Legally, this is possible, but in practice, difficulties may arise.
