Since the beginning of the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region, the Russian army has lost over 38 thousand soldiers.

This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky following a meeting of the Staff. He reminded that today marks exactly five months since the commencement of the Defense Forces' actions in the Kursk region. Currently, Ukrainian fighters are maintaining a buffer zone there, actively destroying the military potential of the aggressor country:

"During the Kursk operation, the enemy has already lost more than 38 thousand of its soldiers - just in this single direction, of which about 15 thousand are irretrievable."

The president noted that the occupiers have deployed their strong units to the region and have also involved soldiers from North Korea. As a result of the operation, they are unable to direct these forces against Sumy, Donetsk, Kharkiv, or Zaporizhzhia.

"I thank all our warriors who are bringing the war back home to Russia, providing more safety and strength to Ukraine," added Zelensky.

Russian Losses in the War

Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in 2024, the losses of the Russian army amounted to over 430 thousand soldiers.

According to their data, the total losses of the occupying forces of the Russian Federation have already exceeded 798 thousand individuals.
