The team of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had discussions on Monday, February 3, with Keith Kellogg, the special representative of U.S. President Donald Trump for Ukraine and Russia. Zelensky announced this during a briefing with the Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi.

"The head of the President's Office had a conversation with Voltz (the White House National Security Advisor – ed.), and my team had contact with Kellogg (the special representative for Ukraine and Russia – ed.). We already have working dates for the American team’s visit. Dates and composition are currently being coordinated, and we are waiting for the team," the president stated.

Zelensky also commented on Donald Trump's statement about wanting to propose a deal to Ukraine – providing aid in exchange for minerals. He noted that this is one of the points included in the Victory Plan.

The head of state reminded that since 2014, Russia has occupied Ukrainian territories, which contain significant volumes of minerals.

"We are open to the possibility that all of this can be developed with our partners, who help us defend our land and push the enemy back with their weapons, presence, and sanction packages," Zelensky added.

The President of Ukraine noted that he had mentioned this during a meeting with Trump in New York back in September.

"We are open to American companies investing here, and we welcome it. Why? Because if everything is under Russia's control, other countries and companies will enter. I am sure that both Iran and North Korea will be among them. What I discussed with him are facts. American businesses are very interested in entering Ukraine. I would like them to develop this direction with us," Zelensky emphasized.

The president also recalled the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, one of the largest nuclear stations in the world, which produced 6 GW of generation.

"Take one block today. To build one block, billions of dollars are needed. In the United States, 2-3 blocks cost 10-15 billion. That’s their production cost. Plus, the revenue this station could generate. That’s money every day. Today in Ukraine, due to the occupation and attacks, we are importing 300 MW. Imagine what that means... We are importing, while we have the right of ownership. We have 6 GW. Therefore, the question here is not only about minerals. It concerns many aspects. We are also open to partnerships with other countries in the nuclear sector," Zelensky stated.

Ukraine and the USA: What You Should Know

U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, is expected to visit Ukraine in February. The visit will take place after February 11, according to Ukrainian media. It is noted that Kellogg is set to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Additionally, Reuters reported that after a brief, unannounced pause in military aid to Ukraine, the Trump administration resumed supplies. Two sources told journalists that aid supplies resumed after the White House "abandoned its initial assessment of halting all aid to Ukraine."

At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he wants to offer Ukraine an agreement for providing military aid in exchange for the country's minerals.

It is worth recalling that in October 2024, Zelensky presented Ukraine's Victory Plan. The fourth point of this plan concerns the economy. The president stated that Ukraine has critical resources valued in trillions of dollars that Russia wants to seize. This includes titanium, uranium, lithium, graphite, manganese, and many other resources that should not fall into the hands of Russia or its allies.

At that time, the president stated that Ukraine offers key partners – the EU and the United States – to conclude a special agreement to protect Ukraine's critical resources, engage in joint investments, and direct the corresponding economic potential for our collective growth. This agreement should include strong enough sanctions "so that Russia cannot outmaneuver us."
