The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced the increase in pensions starting this spring.
"It is important: we are already prepared for spring with pension indexing, which will take effect from March 1," - emphasized the head of state during his evening address following a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) with officials.
The president highlighted that "no matter how difficult it is, we are finding the resources to assist all Ukrainians and Ukrainian producers."
According to him, nearly 13 million applications have been submitted for "eSupport," and almost 13 billion hryvnias have been paid directly to Ukrainian families.
"The number of participants in the program proves its necessity and the need for similar direct support programs for people. There are already more than 5 million clients in the 'National Cashback' program - this is also a figure that speaks for itself. We are working to expand all effective support formats. And this will happen - I have given the appropriate instructions to the government," - stated Zelensky.
The president also mentioned that during the NSDC meeting, some key issues regarding Ukraine's financial stability and financial discipline were discussed.
"There is a significant problem with the imbalance between imports and exports; imports - and this does not include weapons - significantly exceed our exports. This trend needs to change. We must create significantly more opportunities for production in Ukraine, to support all forms of economic activity in Ukraine. Just as we are attracting foreign investment in the production of weapons, officials must also work in other sectors," - the president noted.
He stated that there was an instruction to collaborate with partners to increase the Ukrainian resource and the overall European resource for the security of economic activities.
"And this involves many aspects: from humanitarian demining, demining agricultural lands to enhancing the protection of our cities. First and foremost, it concerns air defense," - the head of state reported.
