Russian occupiers have managed to advance near several settlements in Donbas.

In particular, according to the project DeepState, the enemy has made progress in Toretsk, Pisky, near Vozdvizhanka, Baranivka, Solenoye, Slavyanka, Petropavlivka, Novoelizavetivka, and Kurakhovo.

Previously, there were reports of fierce battles in the area of Toretsk and Kurakhovo.

Additionally, analysts from the project noted that the contact line in the Kurchyna area is currently being clarified.

Situation in the Kurakhovo Area

On January 8, Orest Drimalovsky - a representative of the press service of the 79th Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that there is currently no talk of encircling the Defense Forces of Ukraine to the south of Kurakhovo in Donetsk region.

Earlier, analysts from DeepState reported that Russian invaders had almost completely occupied the city of Kurakhovo. According to their data, the Defense Forces continue to hold several observation points on the outskirts of the city, but this no longer significantly affects the overall situation.

Moreover, military-political observer Alexander Kovalenko expressed the opinion that the complete capture of Kurakhovo is only a matter of time, as the occupying forces continue to apply pressure in the Kurakhovo bulge and have expanded their control zone around the village of Shevchenko.

Kovalenko believes that the Russians have completed the formation of the southern flank beyond the settlement of Dalneye, thus it can be said that a corresponding buffer zone for strikes on Kurakhovo from the south has been established.
