The war in Ukraine could realistically come to an end by 2025, but this requires laying the groundwork, believes Ukraine's ambassador to Brazil Andrei Melnyk. According to him, the current diplomacy of Ukraine during the full-scale war faces a significant issue—resource dispersion.
"In other words, we continue to live, of course, in a wartime mode, but we are not concentrating, as they say, all our strength ... where it will truly yield positive results. The United States, Germany, the EU - this should involve utilizing the entire arsenal we have," he noted in an interview with "Radio Free Europe".
Melnyk stated that if Ukraine "focuses all its efforts specifically on these directions," he has a feeling that the war will end in 2025. He emphasized that we are awaiting something akin to a "new world order," similar to what was established after France's defeat in the Napoleonic Wars.
Additionally, Melnyk remarked that Donald Trump's assumption of the presidency of the United States represents a new opportunity for Ukraine.
"Maybe I'm mistaken, but at least it’s my personal feeling that the new U.S. administration will not abandon Ukraine for various reasons," he declared.
According to the diplomat, Trump aims to restore the glory of the U.S. and etch his name in history as one of the country’s most successful presidents. Therefore, he will focus on significantly enhancing the influence of the United States globally.
Currently, Ukraine has a chance to establish contact with future representatives of the U.S. presidential administration while it is in the process of formation.
