Residents of the Tomakivka community are expressing concerns about violators who disregard the ban on creating garbage dumps and dispose of waste in unauthorized locations. One such dump was cleared by municipal workers on January 30. This was reported on the community's Facebook page, as conveyed by "Vidomo".
Specifically, the municipal service staff removed an illegal waste dump near the village of Chumaky. The area was littered with plastic bottles, food packaging waste, bags, and more. Drivers were "eagerly" contributing to the pollution by leaving their trash behind.

Residents are urged to use designated waste disposal sites. Furthermore, community authorities are requesting local police officers to include the aforementioned location in their measures to identify violators and prevent the establishment of dumps.
"We also hope that the extended producer responsibility for packaging and packaging waste will finally begin its operation. The country will have facilities for sorting, recycling, and disposing of not only municipal solid waste but also household appliances, clothing, construction materials, and composting...
We also hope that supermarkets will finally introduce machines for accepting PET bottles and aluminum cans (such a system is operational in many European countries) because packaging waste certainly has no place in the environment," the message states.
