New specialized shelters are being installed near bus stops in Nikopol.

In Nikopol, the installation of new specialized shelters is actively underway, aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens in wartime conditions. These shelters are being placed near public transport stops and at street intersections, where large numbers of people typically gather. This was reported by the city mayor, Alexander Sayuk, as conveyed by "Vidomo".

Such measures are intended to protect the population from potential shelling and shrapnel, which is particularly relevant in the current situation.

The shelters consist of gabion structures – mesh containers filled with stones or other protective materials. These constructions offer a more economical and effective solution compared to traditional concrete shelters, which cannot be installed in sufficient numbers due to their high cost.

Sayuk stated that plans are in place to install such shelters in 120-150 locations throughout the city. The work on the installation of shelters will not be limited to this year and will continue into 2025.
