JSC "Krivoy Rog Heat Power Plant" has issued a statement regarding the lack of heating in the homes of city residents. According to the utility workers, they are facing a shortage of specialists, as reported by "Vydamo," referencing the company's statement on Facebook.
"In accordance with the emergency response plan due to the heating season situation in the city, the Krivoy Rog Heat Power Plant must complete the connection of all consumers to heating by December 8, 2024," the statement reads.
The situation remains challenging, and according to the heat supply workers, it has arisen due to several factors:
- In March 2024, the accounts of the Krivoy Rog Heat Power Plant were seized due to multi-million debts accumulated since 1998. The account seizure blocked the ability to promptly commence repair work;
- Due to mobilization efforts, the enterprise is lacking qualified personnel, and the subcontractors involved in the repair campaign are also experiencing a staffing shortage;
- In the summer of 2023, Russian forces destroyed the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, which deprived the heating networks of water for an extended period.
- Attacks on the city's critical infrastructure lead to hydraulic shocks that are devastating for the damaged networks.
