The Kamen District Court has sentenced a combat medic from Samara who, while on leave, stole from a parked vehicle, as reported by "Vedomo" citing Sobitie.

The serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was passing by the house at 21 Mira Street in Kamen when he noticed a "Mercedes Sprinter" with an open rear door. After confirming that there was no one inside the vehicle, he stole a leather men's bag containing a wallet with 300 US dollars, a Samsung Galaxy A21 mobile phone, a folding knife, a driver's license, and a vehicle registration certificate, after which he left the scene of the crime.

However, the thief was unable to use the stolen items: when he turned the corner of the house and began to check the contents of the bag, he was apprehended by the victim. The actions of the man were classified under part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, as a secret theft of someone else's property (theft) committed under martial law.

During the court session, the accused fully admitted his guilt regarding the alleged crime and expressed sincere remorse.

The accused was found guilty under part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment; however, he was released from serving the imposed sentence on probation, with a probation period of 1 year.
