The Kremlin's ruler, Putin, claims the illegitimacy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an attempt to mislead foreign leaders and audiences.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha. He reminded that over the quarter-century of Putin's rule in the Kremlin, Ukraine has seen three presidents change through fair elections, while Donald Trump has managed to return to the White House for a second time:
"This is what democracy and legitimacy look like. Meanwhile, Putin has usurped power, trampled on the Russian constitution, killed or imprisoned all opponents, destroyed free media, organized a sham vote for himself, and remains in power longer than Stalin. Now this man lectures the world on legitimacy. Leave us alone."
Sybiha emphasized that only the legitimacy of the dictator in Moscow could be questioned, "who turns twenty-year-old men, born when he was already in power, into cannon fodder."
Putin's Statement on Zelensky
It should be noted that the Kremlin's ruler previously stated that Moscow will not sign a peace treaty with the Ukrainian president because he is not legitimate.
As is known, presidential elections do not take place in Ukraine during martial law. In the fall of 2023, all political forces in the Verkhovna Rada agreed that elections will be held only after this regime is lifted.
