The meeting of the contact group regarding Ukraine's defense at the "Ramstein" airbase in Germany on January 9 may be the last of its kind, stated Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press conference. This was reported by 300 Polityka.

According to him, it is likely that the administration of the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump will propose "a different format for these events," as the current format was established by the current U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

"It might be the last meeting of this type because the new administration is expected to suggest an alternative form for these events. I believe NATO should take on more responsibility, as it is now," Kosiniak-Kamysz said.

The official also mentioned that on Monday, January 13, he will discuss with the defense ministers of Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy, as well as with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, possible changes that may occur due to the "upcoming inauguration of President Trump."
