It is essential to strengthen Ukraine's air shield with systems capable of intercepting Russian medium-range ballistic missiles.
This information was shared by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga on the social media platform X (Twitter).
He pointed out that Russia's use of medium-range ballistic missiles is a typical form of blackmail.
According to him, "Putin is trying to deter everyone from supporting Ukraine":
"Ukraine's partners should act in precisely the opposite manner - reject the blackmail, enhance support, and fortify Ukraine's air shield with systems capable of intercepting such missiles."
Focus on Russia's intercontinental ballistic missile - what has been reported
As reported by UNIAN, on November 21, Russia struck Dnipro with the "Oreshnik" missile.
Fabian Hoffmann, a researcher at the Nuclear Project in Oslo, stated in an interview with CNN that Kremlin leader Putin lied about the impossibility of intercepting Russian ballistic missiles "Oreshnik".
He mentioned that certain missile defense systems produced by the United States and Israel could intercept multiple warheads. He stated that systems like the SM-3 from Aegis or Aegis Ashore, and likely Arrow 3 and THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) can effectively handle this type of threat.
The military analyst noted that the economic factor poses a greater challenge than the interception itself, as a large number of interceptors would be required to shoot down all the warheads.
