The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that he would attend the inauguration of the newly elected U.S. leader, Donald Trump, only if he receives an invitation.

In an interview with American podcaster Lex Fridman, the politician expressed his desire to be in Washington on that day, but mentioned that visiting without a direct invitation from the President of the United States would simply be inappropriate:

"I'm that kind of person; I can't visit without an invitation. Putin - we didn't invite him, but he came to us. I can't do that."

Trump's Inauguration

As is well known, the American politician is set to officially assume the presidency of the United States on January 20.

In mid-December, Donald Trump informed journalists that he had not yet invited Volodymyr Zelensky to his inauguration, but he would like to see him there.
