The current President of the United States, Joe Biden, has "quietly and unobtrusively" reached out to lawmakers requesting an additional $24 billion in assistance for Ukraine.

The Biden administration aims to incorporate this new funding into the government spending package that lawmakers may pass in December, reports Politico, citing a document from the Office of Management and Budget at the White House.

"…Biden is quietly and unobtrusively asking lawmakers for another $24 billion for Ukraine aid and to replenish American weaponry sent to fight against Russia before he leaves office," the report notes.

According to journalists, the request from the White House to lawmakers was made on November 25:

"Two congressional aides confirmed the details of the proposal and said that Congress (which includes two legislative bodies - the Senate and the House of Representatives - Ed.) received it on Monday."

It is worth mentioning that Joe Biden will serve as President of the United States until the inauguration of the newly elected head of state, Donald Trump, scheduled for January 20 of next year.

Focus on Assistance to Ukrainians - What Has Been Reported

The U.S. government has already allocated tens of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine. In particular, the American side has provided Kyiv with equipment, weapons, and ammunition.

On November 20, the U.S. announced a new aid package for Ukraine, marking the 70th such package during Joe Biden's presidency. Reports indicated that Ukraine would receive, among other things, ammunition for the American HIMARS rocket systems and drones.

Later, Secretary of State Antony Blinken assured that his country would provide Ukrainians with everything necessary to continue fighting over the next year.
