The Russian occupiers struck a boarding school in Sudja, located in the Kursk region. This was reported by the representative of the military command in the city of Sudja, Alexey Dmitrashkovsky.
"Today, February 1, 2025, at 17:54, the armed forces of the Russian Federation indeed launched an attack on the boarding school in the city of Sudja. 95 people are trapped under the rubble. Sounds of moaning and cries for help can be heard from beneath the debris," he noted.
According to Dmitrashkovsky, most of these individuals are elderly and unable to move on their own.
"Search and rescue operations are currently being carried out by the military command," the spokesperson added.
According to information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia carried out the strike using guided bombs from its aviation.
"At the time of the attack, dozens of local residents were inside the building, preparing for evacuation. The Russian side was aware that only civilians - local residents, including women and children - were in the boarding school. Everything possible is being done to rescue the survivors," the statement emphasized.
The General Staff noted that this strike is yet another war crime committed by the Russian Federation, directed against the civilian population.
"The Russian army terrorizes Ukrainian cities daily with missile and drone strikes, destroying residential buildings, schools, and hospitals. Now it has begun to deliberately kill its own peaceful citizens. For every war crime, the terrorists will surely be held accountable," the statement assured.
