On the morning of Thursday, November 28, several explosions were reported in a number of western regions due to a massive missile attack by the Russian army. Targets were noted in Rivne, Lviv, and Volyn.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported on the missiles. Local telegram channels provided updates on where the explosions occurred.
UPD-1. The attack is ongoing. The majority of missiles are concentrated in the western regions. Explosions have already been heard in Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Lviv (loudly near Stryi), and Khmelnytskyi.
UPD. Preliminary reports indicate that no one was injured during the Russian missile attack in Lutsk, according to Mayor Polischuk. He stated that all emergency services are working at the impact sites.
Students of the first shift have been switched to remote learning, and "invincibility points" will operate in all educational institutions.
"There is a power outage in part of the city. Unfortunately, electric transport is currently not operational. We are working with transport providers to maximize the deployment of buses to cover as many passengers as possible who were previously transported by electric transport. We are completely connecting all our critical infrastructure, including Lutskteplo and Lutskvodokanal, to alternative energy sources, diesel generators, and other energy sources," he said.
Explosions may have occurred in Stryi. Prior to this, the head of the Lviv OVA wrote that missiles were heading toward the city.
Reporters from "Suspilne" have reported explosions in Rivne. Overall, missiles were flying over Ternopil and Khmelnytsky. After the explosions, parts of the city lost power.
Additionally, explosions were heard in Lutsk. Local media reported this around 6:20. Just six minutes later, there were repeated explosions.
The head of the Volyn OVA, Ivan Rudnytsky, reported that there were impacts in the city. He urged residents to seek shelter.
Lutsk Mayor Igor Polischuk reported that power was lost in parts of the city. He is currently at the scene.
According to the Minister of Energy, the Ukrainian energy sector is under massive attack from Russia. He stated that attacks on energy facilities are occurring throughout Ukraine. The transmission system operator NEC "Ukrenergo" has urgently implemented emergency power outages.
As of 6:43, the threat to western regions is only from UAVs. There are no missile threats at this time.
