"Ukrenergo" reported in the "Kyiv Digital" app that on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, the scheduled power outages are expected to be suspended. Additionally, in their Telegram channel, the company noted that this morning, January 6, energy consumption was higher than on the previous working day.
"Today, January 6, as of 9:30 AM, electricity consumption was 5.6% higher than at the same time on the previous working day - Friday, January 3. This is attributed to the drop in temperature across most regions compared to the end of last week," the message stated.
Ukrenergo urged Ukrainians to limit the use of home "energy guzzlers." Specifically, this refers to electric stoves, washing machines, boilers, and air conditioners.
"We remind you that the Ukrainian energy system is still recovering after thirteen massive missile and drone attacks by the Russians last year. Emergency recovery operations at energy facilities are ongoing. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore damaged equipment and replace that destroyed by the enemy as quickly as possible," emphasized Ukrenergo.
The Situation in Ukraine's Energy System
Earlier, irozhlas reported that Slovakia will continue supplying electricity to Ukraine despite threats from Prime Minister Robert Fico. Last spring, the Slovak company SEPS extended the contract with our country for another 12 months.
Moreover, the Ministry of Energy outlined the condition under which Ukraine will not export electricity abroad. During peak consumption hours, to meet the needs of Ukrainian consumers, Ukraine imports additional electricity from neighboring EU countries.
