Оккупанты уже в 3 км от Покровска, ситуация с обстрелами ухудшается, - МВА

The Russian army has intensified shelling in Pokrovsk, located in the Donetsk region. The city is without electricity, gas, and water supply, as reported by the head of the Pokrovsk City Military Administration, Sergey Dobryak, during an interview on "Radio Liberty".

As the head of the Military Administration noted, Russian troops are currently positioned less than three kilometers from the city.

"The situation regarding shelling is deteriorating; it has increased, with both KABs and artillery being used, and FPV drones are particularly bothersome. There is no place in the city that is not under fire from artillery or drones," he stated.

According to the Military Administration, there are still 7,200 people remaining in the city. Despite the lack of electricity, heat, and water, several pharmacies are operating in Pokrovsk, the city hospital is functioning in a limited capacity, along with one branch of "Ukrposhta" and a few stores. The evacuation of residents is ongoing, but now in a different format.

"There are no longer gathering points for evacuation. People are being picked up directly from their homes. They are mainly taken to Pavlograd, where they go through registration. Over the course of a month, individuals receive 10,800 UAH in 'relocation' assistance from international partners. People are accommodated in compact living spaces - schools and dormitories. They can stay there for as long as needed," Dobryak said.

The Situation in the Pokrovsk Area

Fighting for Pokrovsk began back in July 2024. On August 7, the occupiers captured the village of Sergeyivka and started advancing towards the settlement of Hrodovka, which soon allowed them to launch artillery strikes directly on Pokrovsk itself.

Six months later, Russian troops are positioned 4 to 8 kilometers from the city.

Earlier, UNIAN reported on the reserves that the occupiers are transferring to the Kurakhiv and Pokrovsk directions. These reserves amount to up to 10,000, according to Petro Andriushchenko.

Additionally, Russia aims to turn Pokrovsk into a springboard for further offensives. However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing everything possible to prevent this. Although the occupiers are attempting to bypass the city.
