The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Hydrometeorology Center, Vasily Grinchak, stated that a cold snap is expected at the beginning of February, as reported by "VidoMo".
"Snow and a drop in temperature are anticipated at the start of February. In the last days of January, the average daily temperatures exceed the norm by 8-9 degrees, which is considered an abnormal indicator. However, during the first decade of February, air temperatures will begin to normalize for this month. At night, temperatures will be between -1 and -6 degrees Celsius, while during the day, they will range from 0 to +5 degrees. Nevertheless, the average monthly temperature for February is forecasted to be 1.5 degrees above normal," he noted.
According to him, meteorological winter in the Dnipropetrovsk region has not yet begun. There has been no stable transition of air temperatures through zero. This typically occurs in early December. This year, such a transition did not happen. Both December and January saw average daily temperatures that were above normal.
