As a result of the attack by Ukrainian drones on the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation, a fire broke out at an oil refinery (ORP).
Specifically, a tank containing petroleum products caught fire, reported the governor of the region, Veniamin Kondratiev.
"In the village of Novominskaya in the Kanevsky district, debris from the UAV fell onto a tank with minor remnants of petroleum products. A fire started, and it has been assigned a second level of complexity... The fire has been localized, and preliminarily, there are no reported injuries," he stated on Telegram.
According to Russian Telegram channels, the targeted facility was the oil refinery LLC "Albashneft," and the fire had not yet been extinguished by morning.
This is the only oil refinery in the village of Novominskaya in Krasnodar Krai. Currently, its designed capacity allows for the processing of up to 320,000 tons of hydrocarbon raw materials per year.
Strikes on Russian Oil Refineries
Recently, Ukrainian defenders have actively begun targeting Russian oil refineries and other facilities. A series of drone attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russian energy sites has triggered fires in recent days at a large gas processing plant in Astrakhan, as well as at an oil refinery in the Volgograd region, where drones attacked the refinery, a thermal power station, and an oil depot early on January 31. Notably, in 2024, Ukrainian drones have attacked this oil refinery in the Volgograd region at least three times.
