This year, the weather in December in Ukraine is expected to be within the normal range. This is indicated by the forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
The average monthly air temperature, according to meteorologists, is projected to range from -4°C to +2°C, which is close to the norm.
Precipitation over the month is anticipated to be between 34-78 mm, and in mountainous areas, locally 81-105 mm, which is also within the normal range.
Winter Forecast in Ukraine - What to Expect from the Weather
This winter is predicted to be mild, with the average seasonal temperature expected to exceed the climatic norm by approximately 2 degrees. This information was previously shared by climatologist Vera Balabukh.
She noted that over the past three decades, the average winter temperature in Ukraine has increased by nearly 1.5 degrees compared to the 1970s and 80s. There is a possibility that this trend will continue this year.
However, the expert warns that sudden cold snaps and the intrusion of arctic air are possible.
Balabukh also added that it is currently impossible to predict whether there will be 30-degree frost this year. However, "so far, we see that this year is characterized by abnormally high air temperatures in the eastern part of the country," the weather expert concluded.
According to calculations, this winter may be warm, similar to last year.
