Ukrainian forces are systematically targeting the Russian 810th Marine Brigade in the Kursk region. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on Tuesday, a "precision" strike affected the headquarters of the 810th Marine Brigade in Belaya, marking the second attack on the brigade's headquarters in two weeks.
As analyst Forbes David Ax reports, it remains unclear what munitions were used by the Ukrainians, but Belaya is located just 20 miles east of Suja—providing numerous options, as Ukraine possesses a wide range of deep-strike weapons, from Western missiles to heavy strike drones.
"The besieged 810th Marine Brigade has received an disproportionately large share of this firepower," the analyst notes, reminding that the Ukrainians previously struck the brigade's headquarters in Lgov.
Moreover, shortly after the attack on Lgov, the 810th Marine Brigade relocated to Plekhov for a brief rest period.
"The unit, comprising 2,500 personnel, needed a breather. The 810th Marine Brigade and its related unit in the Kursk counteroffensive, the tragic 155th Marine Brigade, have been severely depleted after two months of primarily unsuccessful assaults from the Kursk salient," notes Ax.
On January 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled yet another attack by the 810th Marine Brigade near Pogrebki.
"Since November, Russian marines have committed at least two battalions, totaling 400 personnel, to Pogrebki, but achieved nothing apart from losses," emphasizes the analyst.
UAF Strikes on Occupants' Headquarters
Before the intensification of UAF activities in Kursk, it became known that the command post of the 810th Separate Guards Marine Brigade in the city of Lgov was hit. Reports indicated that the enemy suffered losses among the officer corps.
Additionally, the UAF recently struck a command point of the Russian army in Maryino, Kursk region.
