Under the current mobilization conditions in Ukraine, demobilization is highly unlikely. As reported by a UNIAN correspondent, this was stated during a briefing by Roman Kostenko, a member of the "Voice" party and secretary of the Ukrainian Parliament's Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence.

When asked whether a draft law on demobilization, which was supposedly to be developed by December, is in the works, the parliamentarian noted: "Are any norms being developed regarding the task set for the government by the Verkhovna Rada? - Yes."

"Recently, the chairman of the Committee and I visited the Ministry of Defense, where representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff were present. We discussed this draft law in detail. There, more attention is given to the rotation of units that are on the front lines," Kostenko reported.

He added that the Ministry of Defense and the government are primarily focused on rotations, while "discussions are ongoing regarding demobilization." The deputy emphasized:

"Given the current mobilization conditions - this is highly unlikely."

Demobilization in Ukraine

As UNIAN previously reported, Fedor Venislavsky, a member of the "Servant of the People" party and a member of the VR Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, stated that there are no grounds to expect a draft law on demobilization that would provide for the mass dismissal of military personnel in the near future.

Additionally, Defense Ministry spokesperson Dmitry Lazutkin noted that in Ukraine it is necessary to create a continuous cycle where some defenders are fighting, others are resting, and others are preparing.
