Investigators in Kryvyi Rih have announced suspicions against an official for discharging polluted water into the Saksahan River. This was reported by "Vidomo," referencing the Main Directorate of National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region.
It has been noted that a 36-year-old head of a department at one of the city's municipal enterprises, due to improper performance of his official duties, allowed uncontrolled discharge of contaminated water into the Saksahan River.
Police have entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (URPTI) and are establishing the circumstances of the crime. The fact was recorded by environmental inspection staff, who prepared the relevant act. According to the results of an engineering and environmental examination, the river's pollution lasted for nearly a year. The violation of environmental protection legislation has led to serious consequences for the environment.
On January 15, investigators officially notified the official of the suspicion under part 1 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of water protection rules).
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
