The "red" magnetic storm continues to rage on Earth. Meanwhile, astrophysicists are warning about a coronal mass ejection (CME) that left the Sun last week. It could potentially trigger a new storm.
The CME departed from the Sun on February 15. On Tuesday, February 18, it may impact Earth's magnetic field and cause G1 class geomagnetic storms, which are considered minor, as reported by scientists from the space weather research site Spaceweather.
"This is a low-probability forecast. A miss is just as likely as a hit.", the message added.
According to data from the Meteoagent website, which bases its forecasts on NOAA satellite systems, TESIS, and international meteorological laboratories worldwide, a magnetic storm rated at 5 will persist on Tuesday, February 18. By tomorrow, February 19, solar activity is expected to drop to a "green" level.
No geomagnetic storms are anticipated between February 20-23.
Recall that earlier "Telegraph" reported on whether spring will arrive on schedule in Ukraine. Meteorologists provided a forecast for March.
