The magnetic storm is expected to last until nearly the end of the week. Will it be severe?

Earth is currently experiencing a magnetic storm as our planet is engulfed in a stream of solar wind. Astrometeorologists predict that a new wind stream is heading our way, which could result in a magnetic storm in the coming days.

A new stream of solar wind has already launched towards Earth. If it arrives, a G1-class magnetic storm may begin on February 14, which is considered minor, as reported by astrometeorologists from the space weather research site Spaceweather.

In addition to the geomagnetic storm, the solar wind could trigger Arctic auroras on Valentine's Day.

Magnetic storms on Earth from February 12 to 16

According to data from the site Meteoagent, which bases its forecast on NOAA, TESIS satellite systems, and international meteorological laboratories around the globe, a strong magnetic storm of 6 points is expected on Thursday, February 13. The storm's intensity will decrease to 5 points the following day, and by February 15, it will drop to just 4 points.

On Sunday, February 16, no geomagnetic fluctuations are anticipated.
