A significant accumulation of space debris has been recorded over the Crimean Peninsula. A large portion of this debris consists of rocket fragments.
This is evidenced by data from the portal platform.leolabs.space, which monitors the movement of satellites and space debris in real time.
Every day, dozens of various space objects fly over the territory of Ukraine. Some of them can be seen with the naked eye, such as satellites, while the majority remain invisible to observers on Earth.
The portal allows everyone to track the movement of satellites and space debris over the country's territory. The online map shows that a significant number of orbital objects are concentrated specifically over the Crimean Peninsula.
According to specialists from the portal, the number of unknown fragments and rocket debris in low Earth orbit is increasing every year. Decommissioned rocket stages and remaining fragments in orbit pose a real threat. They could lead to a large-scale space disaster.
Over the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula, all kinds of space objects fly by every minute. Among them, a significant portion consists of rocket fragments and their spent stages.
Additionally, "Telegraph" previously reported that about a dozen satellites are flying over Kyiv at the same time. Some of them can be seen in the sky, while most cannot.
