Our planet is currently experiencing a stream of solar wind, which is causing a magnetic storm. Scientists are warning about another wind stream that could lead to a new geomagnetic storm on February 14.
Another solar wind stream is heading towards Earth. It is emerging from a canyon-like hole in the Sun's atmosphere, as reported by scientists from the space weather research site Spaceweather.
"The first contact with the stream on February 14 could trigger a minor G1 class geomagnetic storm with auroras in the Arctic regions," noted astro-meteorologists.
Meanwhile, experts from the site Meteoagent, which bases its forecast on NOAA, TESIS satellite systems, and international meteorological laboratories worldwide, predict that on Tuesday, February 11, there will be a strong magnetic storm rated at 5. The following day, February 12, its intensity will decrease to 4. However, on February 13, it will rise again to "red" level.
No geomagnetic fluctuations are expected in the last days of this week.
Previously, "Telegraph" reported that a second wave of frost is heading to Ukraine. Temperatures are expected to drop even further, according to meteorologists.
