Battery will thank you: tips for keeping your phone safe during winter.

Batteries in modern devices do not perform well in freezing temperatures.
Зимой аккумулятор оценит заботу: советы по сохранению работоспособности телефона в холодное время года.

During cold weather, many smartphone users make a number of mistakes that negatively impact battery life. Therefore, it is advisable to follow some simple rules that can help extend its lifespan.

"Telegraph" outlines the key guidelines for using your phone during winter days. These tips are especially relevant during periods of extreme cold.

As is well known, cold temperatures slow down the chemical reactions in the battery, resulting in decreased energy transfer efficiency. This can sometimes lead to the phone draining quickly or even shutting down temporarily.

Thus, the simplest advice is to keep your smartphone warm—either in an inner pocket of your jacket or close to your body, rather than in a bag. If you prefer not to follow this advice for any reason, you can purchase a special insulated case or wrap the phone in a soft cloth. It is also recommended to avoid using the phone in freezing temperatures or, at the very least, to minimize usage time.

Since devices deplete faster at low temperatures, it is advisable to enable power-saving mode in advance to avoid sudden unpleasant surprises. During winter, it is also beneficial to ensure that the phone’s battery does not drop below 40%, as the battery can suddenly lose 20-30% of its charge.

If your phone shuts down in the cold, never attempt to warm it up using a heater. A sudden temperature change may cause condensation to form, and moisture and electronics are never a good combination.

If your phone has drained in the cold, do not charge it immediately. Allow it to warm up to room temperature first; otherwise, you risk damaging the battery.

Previously, "Telegraph" reported on the main battery drainers for smartphones. This feature is not disabled by anyone.
