Simply increasing the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not lead to victory in the war against the Russian Federation. The country needs advanced Western weaponry that will enable it to strike the territory of the aggressor nation.

This was commented on by people's deputy and member of the Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Fyodor Venislavsky, regarding the statements from the team of newly elected United States President Donald Trump about the need to lower the mobilization age:

"The main issue is that winning a war initiated by Russia is simply impossible by just increasing the number of Armed Forces."

The deputy believes that Ukrainians should act asymmetrically in this war, targeting military objectives on Russian territory using high-tech weapons and long-range missiles. He pointed out that the potential of the occupiers can be weakened even with the current troop numbers.

Venislavsky also reminded that preparing new mobilized soldiers will take about four to six months, while the country needs weaponry right now.

"With the provision of such innovative weapons, I believe we can achieve more than just increasing the army," - emphasized the deputy.

Lowering the Mobilization Age

It is worth noting that the administration of current U.S. President Joe Biden has already urged Kyiv to begin mobilizing young men to stabilize the situation at the front.

At that time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that such a move would not resolve issues with arms supplies.

Recently, Michael Waltz, a Republican appointed by Trump as National Security Advisor, stated that Ukraine should strengthen mobilization.
