Not all brigades are named after princes or historical heroes. For instance, the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade is renowned for its victories. This military unit belongs to the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is stationed in Zhytomyr.
"Telegraph" will discuss the brigade's insignia. There are several elements since, in addition to the official brigade patch, some units have their own distinct designs.
The central feature of the brigade's shoulder insignia is a stylized golden eagle with silver claws and beak in a battle attack position. This symbol of courage reflects the brigade's constant readiness to undertake combat missions, bravery, and the airborne assault from the sky, while the shield's color signifies its affiliation with the Air Assault Forces.
Some units within the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade have their own shoulder insignia. Among them is the 13th Separate Air Assault Battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Taras Senyuk, which features the brigade's eagle along with the city gates that are open and adorned with three towers — the coat of arms of Zhytomyr. The 2nd Air Assault Battalion of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade also has its unique patch.

The 95th Brigade began as a training center but was later reorganized into a full-fledged combat unit. In the 1990s and 2000s, servicemen actively participated in international exercises and peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the UN.
In the spring of 2014, the brigade was among the first to rise in defense of the country against Russian aggression. Its units engaged in fierce battles for Sloviansk and subsequently operated on various sections of the front in Eastern Ukraine. The brigade gained particular fame in the summer of 2014 when it executed a legendary multi-kilometer raid behind enemy lines.
2 In 2022, the brigade confronted the enemy in the Toretsk direction, participated in intense battles in Kharkiv and Donbas, and joined key combat operations of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
On November 21, 2023, it was awarded the honorary title "Polissia." Since August 2024, the brigade has continued its combat mission in Kherson. In December 2024, the 95th Separate Air Assault Polissia Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine celebrated its 32nd anniversary.
Previously, "Telegraph" reported that some brigade patches combine symbols from multiple cities. For example, the patch of the 45th Separate Air Assault Brigade unites the symbols of Zaporizhzhia and Lviv.
