ISW: Russians are making gains in the Kursk region, while Ukrainian forces have advanced in Donbas. Here's the current front line situation (maps included).

The Institute for the Study of War has examined the military operations in Ukraine and Russia.

Ukrainian defenders have recently made advances in the Ugledar direction. There are also reports of progress by Russian occupiers in the Kursk and Kharkiv regions, particularly around Svatove, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Velyka Novosilka.

This information was released by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on December 11. The agency published maps of the combat operations.

Kramatorsk Direction

On December 10, Russian forces continued their offensive actions in the area of Chasiv Yar but did not make any advancements. Occupiers were conducting offensive operations in Chasiv Yar and nearby, near Orekhovo-Vasylivka and close to Belya Gora.

Recently, they made progress within Toretsk and to the west of this city.

Geolocated footage published on December 9 and 10 shows that the occupiers advanced westward along Frunze Street in the center of Toretsk and in the southeastern part of Shcherbinovka.

Pokrovsk Direction

Russian invaders have recently advanced southwest of Pokrovsk. Geolocated footage from December 9 indicates that the occupiers moved westward through Mira Street in the northern part of Novotroitske.

Russian forces attacked near Pokrovsk, around Luch, Myrolyubivka, Lisovka, Dachne, Zeleny, Chumatsky, Novy Trud, and Shevchenko on December 9 and 10.

Kurakhove Direction

Russian occupiers have recently advanced towards Kurakhove. Geolocated footage published on December 10 indicates that the Russians captured the Kurakhiv elevator.

The Russian invaders attacked near Kurakhove itself, around Sonsivka, Staryi Ternov, Zarya, Dachne, and Dalne on December 9 and 10.

Ugledar Direction

Ukrainian defense forces have recently advanced in the Ugledar direction. The geolocated footage published on December 10 shows that the Armed Forces of Ukraine regained lost positions in the western part of Romanivka (northeast of Ugledar).

Additionally, the geolocated footage published on December 10 revealed a reinforced mechanized platoon assault by the Russians, indicating that the occupiers advanced in the southeastern part of Konstantinopol (northwest of Ugledar).

Further geolocated footage released on December 10 shows that the Russians advanced within the eastern part of Uspenivka (to the northwest of Ugledar).

Russian occupiers continued their attacks near Vesele Haye and Annivka, around Uspenivka, Konstantinopol, Sukhi Yaly, and Razliv on December 9 and 10. Russian forces advanced near Velyka Novosilka.

Zaporizhzhia Direction

On December 10, Russian forces recently advanced north of Robotyne in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region. Geolocated footage published on December 9 shows that the occupiers moved north along the Tokmak-Orihiv highway T-04-08.

UAF Operation in Russia

Russian forces have recently advanced near the main "Ukrainian foothold" in the Kursk region. Geolocated footage released on December 10 shows that the Russians advanced in the southern part of Daryino (southeast of Korenevo).

Ukrainian sources reported on December 10 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled a Russian mechanized attack of platoon size on an unspecified date, likely near Daryino.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that the Russian army captured five times more territory in two months than in 2023. There are several reasons for this, but there is now a real threat that the Russians may enter Dnipropetrovsk region.
