On the night of Monday, May 3, one of the oil refining facilities in the city of Ufa (the capital of Bashkortostan) was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles.
Russian Telegram channels report that residents of the city heard a powerful explosion, which some mistook for an earthquake. Following this, numerous videos surfaced online showing a fire at the oil refinery.
It is known that the "Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim" refinery (formerly the Ufa Oil Refinery named after the XXII Congress of the CPSU) is located in the city of Ufa. According to data from open sources, the facility produces nearly 60 types of products, including gasoline, fuel oil, diesel fuel, and liquefied gases.
Attacks on Russian Oil Refineries
It is known that Ukraine is striking Russian oil refineries and other fuel facilities to reduce the occupiers' ability to sustain their military operations.
In January, Ukrainian drones struck the "TANEKO" oil refinery, one of the largest and most modern in Russia, which can process over 16 million tons of oil annually.
And in early February, it became known that operations at the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant were halted as a result of a drone attack.
